July 2015
The Paso Robles spring horse shows have come and gone and we just finished competing at the Del Mar Horse Park in the Showpark Summer Festival. We had some unseasonal rain, but summer is in full swing and the horses and I have been in the thick of it.

Hester Equestrian Horse Report

Warinde B (2003 KWPN mare) has stepped up her game, which led to two huge wins at Paso Robles in the CWD Grand Prix of Paso Robles and the LA Saddlery Grand Prix. I never pushed Ella as fast as I did in the CWD because she tends to go a little flat. But I took the risk and it went perfectly. I’m so pleased and happy she is mine to ride.

Wender (2003 KWPN gelding) continues to remain consistent. Jack made the move up to Grand Prix and has been finishing in the top seven. He finished second in the $5,000 1.30 Jumper Classic at the Del Mar National.

Daister L (2008 KWPN gelding) has placed in the ribbons quite a bit. He’s been finishing quite well in the Seven Year Old Jumpers. Danny won both the Six and Seven Year Old Jumpers and the Seven Year Old Jumpers twice each at the Central California Memorial Day Classic.

Lorstakov (2009 Holsteiner gelding) hasn’t finished outside of the top four for the last three months in the classes I’ve taken him to! Ralph’s proving to be an incredible part of my string and the future with him looks bright. Most recently, he won the Six Year Old Jumpers at Showpark Summer Festival.

Clueless P (2006 Hanoverian mare) joined the string in April as a replacement for Abby, to ease up the pressure on Ella. We’ve been doing a mix of small and big classes, most recently the CashCall Futurity Final and the Markel Insurance Grand Prix at Showpark Summer Festival. We’re starting to figure each other out and I’m excited for the future.

Arly (2005 Dutch WB) is a catch ride who joined me at Paso Robles, due to the generosity of Enrique Gonzalez. Arly is a fantastic horse and we suit each other really well. I rode him once before competing him in some 1.40 classes and he was great.

Abigail (2003 Holsteiner mare) got time off after her surgery and is doing well. I plan to breed her soon.

My string is coming along really well. It’s wonderful to see my young horses and seasoned campaigners succeeding. The weather has been crazy for Southern California with downpours in the middle of July! We’ve been hitting some different shows on the circuit and, the horses are handling it well.

More exciting news, we recently purchased a farm in Lexington, KY. It will be called HE Show Stables.  I’m looking forward to moving there in September and getting everything set up. The future is bright – the horses are doing well, I have some great competitions on the calendar, and will be settled in a new home in a fantastic new location.
