We had a rough start to our week when it started raining on Monday and continued until we left for Koningsbosch, a 2* show. Jassu went ahead of me with the lorry while I finished up everything at the stable at home. When she arrived she called and told me it was a complete disaster. I showed up right after her and my gosh the whole stable area was about a foot deep in mud! We had to wait two hours for them to move our stuff with the forklift. Jassu arrived at 2:30 and we finished bringing all the stuff in around 9pm. It was utter chaos.
Abigail did the 1.30m for the week since I wanted to jump Jack (Wender) in the small grand prix on Saturday. Abbie was fantastic all week. She was clear the first day, 5th the second day, and 3rd in the 1.30m final.
Jack did the 1.35m the first day and pulled off a big win, the second day he was slightly distracted and had the first jump down, but for his grand finale he pulled off 3rd place in the 1.40m Koningsbosch grand prix on Saturday night and jumped absolutely spectacular.
Daister did the young horse classes and was clear the first day, he was a bit wild the second day and also had the first jump down (guess I have to make sure he and Jack are not talking too much) and the last day he had a very cheap rail coming into the combination but it was a very big course for him.
Warinde (Ella) was in her own world the first day. The second day was a speed class and we had to do well to qualify for the grand prix. There were 116 in the class and we had to be in the top 25 to qualify so Emile Hendrix told me we had to go for it. She ended up 5th! For the grand prix she jumped amazing but sadly had an unlucky rail at 4b, the front rail of an oxer which was a very unusual rail for her to have.
All in all it was a fantastic show and the heavy rain held off until we were packed off and headed home.
